  • How to and How Not to Pray: What Shouldn't I Pray For?
by Greg Laurie on June 23, 2021 at 7:00 am

Some of us might see prayer as more transactional than relational. When we pray, we focus on asking God for something specific. But today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that that can miss the relational aspects to prayer. Prayer is more than an intercom to heaven. Prayer is a lifeline to the God who loves us and sustains us . . . and who holds our future in His hands. And today, Pastor Greg shows us how to steward this privilege appropriately. • Pray This Way: What Jesus Has to Say About How We Pray
by Greg Laurie on June 22, 2021 at 7:00 am

Whether we’re making a bird house, or sewing a dress, it helps to have a template . . . a pattern to follow. A template helps you learn from those who did the same thing before . . . those who wrestled with all the decisions that go with the project. Well today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the Lord gave us a template or a pattern to follow for effective prayer. It’s what we commonly call The Lord’s Prayer. It’s really more the disciples’ prayer as it shows us how to bring our petitions to God. • The Refreshing Power of the Spirit-Filled Life | Sunday Message
by Greg Laurie on June 20, 2021 at 7:00 am

Stresses, anxieties, and temptations can leave you feeling depressed and exhausted. But in this Sunday message, Pastor Greg Laurie offers a timely reminder that you don’t have to live life in your own strength—you can be filled with the Holy Spirit! Get biblical insight from Pastor Greg’s newest message from Romans 8 in his series, Refresh: What Every Christian Needs to Know. Notes There is no condemnation for our past. There is no separation from God’s love in the future. God is not mad at you; He is mad about you. All things in the present are working together for good.  The Holy Spirit wants to lead you, empower you, and fill you every day. To be filled with the Spirit means to be controlled by the Spirit. 1. A Spirit-led believer lives a condemnation-free life. 2. The best way to not go backward is to go forward in the Spirit. This is not “works-righteousness” but rather a “working righteousness.” 3. Spirit-led people are spiritually minded people. Those led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God (Romans 8:14).  God removes the fear of rejection and assures us that we are God’s children (Romans 8:15–16).  The Spirit gives us confidence to approach God in prayer (Romans 8:26–27).   We are adopted, loved and welcomed by God!  Attempting to be righteous by trying harder is also living in the flesh. 4. The Holy Spirit is at home in the hearts of Spirit-led believers.  5. Spirit-led believers overcome the old life.  “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). Scripture Referenced Job 8:13–14 1 John 1:9 2 Corinthians 5:17 Romans 7:18–20 Romans 7:24–25 Ephesians 4:30–32 --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org.
